I am really pleased to see such enormous commitment to gender diversity and the increase in activity this year form clients in all sectors.
Personally, I do not believe that gender should be a silo under the general topic of diversity as gender affects each and every person in our organisations and the subject is rife with misperception, fear and denial. For instance - did you automatically think 'women' when you read the word gender? What about men? How are we tackling their sensitivity to positive discrimination and lack of awareness on managing flexible working or maternity returners? What about gay people? Women doesn't necessarily mean female and man doesn't necessarily mean male but as a leader you need to learn how to flex your style.
Whether you are diversity professional or an enlightened CEO you are an innovator if you are working for Gender Intelligent GQ™ culture change in your organisation. Remember that this is a term of distinction, of honour and not something to hide or apologise for. Anyone who has new or valuable ideas to offer stands outside the intellectual status quo. But the status quo is not a stream let alone a 'mainstream' - it is a stagnant swamp. Don't get left behind in the driftwood...
