Book of the month
The Seasons of Life by Jim Rohn
Jim Rohn has been hailed as one of the most influential thinkers of our time. He has spawned a whole generation of personal development trainers and trained tens of thousands of executives around the world. In this classic book you will find both triumph and tragedy. It is a philosophical glimpse at the common threads that link the laws of man and nature and offers guidelines for a better quality of life without sacrifice.
Gender Intelligence Showcase – a Big Thanks
A big thank you to all of the clients who supported our showcase session of Gender Intelligence at the IOD on 22nd February and for your overwhelmingly supportive and positive responses and feedback. It was great to see so many men in the room!
Some of the organisations present included:
MOD
KPMG
HBOS
Lehman Brothers
Ford
Alliance & Leicester
JP Morgan
Accenture
Barclays Capital
Shell
BT
EDS
Here's what they said:
- Thanks for an enjoyable, insightful and thought provoking workshop. Look forward to talking in the future. (Male – IT)
- Thank you so much – I certainly enjoyed the session and can see that the product will be very successful. (Female – HR)
- Thanks for fitting me in at the last minute. I will forward the details of the programme to a colleague of mine who is now taking a lead role in diversity matters EMEA. I have lunch with her next week and will follow-up with her and let you know her thoughts. (Female – Senior VP)
- Thank goodness somebody is, at last, brave enough to say that men and women are different and that they have different but complimentary skills. (Male - finance)
- Many thanks for inviting us to the GQ showcase. We really enjoyed the morning, and felt that it gave a real insight into the way you work as an organization as well as the power and potential of what you do – I'm sure they will be biting your hands off! Even in a short time, I felt I got a couple of real insights into how I work and interface with men which says something too. (Female – diversity)
Gender Intelligence GQ™
This is NOT diversity! Training can be tailored in to meet the following strategic objectives:
Increase market share
Marketing & Sales – new money is in handbags not wallets!
Train your sales and marketing teams to understand how women communicate differently and buy differently. These factors ought to affect every aspect of your product development and marketing and sales strategies.
Graduate Recruitment
Recruitment practice – by 2016 7 out of 10 jobs will be filled by women.
Does your current recruitment strategy effectively set out to recruit and retain female graduates? Are you sure that your organization has a strategy that fully understands what appeals to the female graduate in terms of recruitment and retention? How many female graduates do you recruit? More importantly, how many do you retain?
Talent management
A talent revolution – avoid the skills shortage by holding on to your female talent
There is something you can do about it! Go to www.public.deloitte.com/wiar/home.htm and see how Deloittes achieved parity at senior level amongst men and women and what it did to their bottom line. Is your organization gender blind? Are your people (especially at senior level) Gender Intelligent? Or are you happy with the Status Quo and lack of female talent?
Team Working
Increase productivity – believe us when we say that women and men are tired of being in denial!
Women are bored of having to play the game of 'bloke in skirt' and men are tired of having to think that men and women are the same. Unleash your team's creativity by giving them permission to work effectively together as a GQ™ team with no baggage.
Board level awareness
It begins at this level – most organizations don't know what they don't know
A quote from Tom Peters says a lot 'I do not believe that most men are... Sexist Pigs. I do believe that they (we) are oblivious idiots.'
Something else?
Can you think of another area where GQ™ applies? Tell us and we will tailor this innovative training specifically for your needs!
New Product Launches
Mentoring - GQ™
eve-olution has experience in setting up and running successful in-house mentoring schemes. This is an ideal way of developing graduates and fast track employees and supporting managers and leaders as they move up the organization. We also have considerable experience in coaching and mentoring women and those form ethnic minorities. We can advise on the setting up of in-house mentoring programmes and offer training workshops for both the mentors and mentees, and where necessary, the supervision of mentors.
Maternity Returners programme
A recent Harvard Business Review study – 'On ramps - off ramps' revealed that very few women want to return to the organization that she came from. In Financial Services 100% of the respondents said they did not wish to return to their original company.
Why?
It is a known scientific fact that women loose confidence after childbirth. The more Gender Blind™ your organization is the less likely it will be that your maternity leave employees will return. What are you doing about preparing the ground for returnees? Do you offer coaching and support to mangers and returnees alike or do you leave it to chance and hope for the best?
We offer full coaching and support programmes that are backed up by research and delivered by experts in the field of GQ™ that facilitate an easy transition back to the workplace for manager and returnee.
