Client Case Study: Metropolitan Police
Research expertise - forward thinking reports
"The eve-olution research into flexible working for the Metropolitan Police Service has given us unique insights into how best we can maximise the potential for flexibility within the service. eve-olution came up with some truly innovative and dynamic solutions and their customer focus is consistently excellent."
The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) recognised that despite the introduction of flexible working policies progress in implementing part-time and flexible working has been much slower than anticipated, and that everyone, both men and women, are disadvantaged by this.
eve-olution's research team were commissioned in 2004 to conduct qualitative and quantitative research to measure the degree of success that had been achieved to date. The report was welcomed by The Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt, the then Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, who endorsed our findings and recommendations.
Building on this foundation, eve-olution have continued to work alongside the Met in creating culture change and have successfully run GQ™ (Gender Intelligence) sessions with Senior Police Officers at London Boroughs. It is imperative for operational police to understand Gender Differences as research has shown that women do not always report crime due to their fear of the macho culture. The MPS have continued to invest their trust in eve-olutions expertise in getting the message across in a way which is not seen to be only politically correct but also valuable to the lives of the police officers and the work that they do with the general public.
